⁵³ Then he took it down, wrapped it in a linen shroud, and laid him in a tomb that had been hewn out of rock in which no one had ever been interred. ⁵⁴ It was the Day of Preparation, and the Sabbath was about to begin.

⁵⁵ The women who had accompanied Jesus from Galilee followed Joseph. They saw the tomb and how his body was laid in it.
